COPA Coca-Cola Football tournament

The COPA Coca-Cola Football tournament was held in Mauritius from the month of March to May 2011. This year again Coca-Cola and Phoenix Beverages Limited  in collaboration with the Mauritius Football Association steered this competition which targets the young football fans aged 14-17 years old.

This competition aims to support the revival of football in Mauritius while seeking to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle (Active Healthy Living) through sport. For this second edition of COPA Coca-Cola, the organizers wanted to reach students of Mauritius and Rodrigues. Also, more than 1,000 young people had the opportunity to exhibit their talents at this high level competition.

67 teams competed in this competition which began on March 16. After 109 football matches, the grand finale of COPA Coca-Cola was held at the Stade Germain in Bambous Commarmond Sunday, May 15 under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Sir Anerood Jugnauth. The grand finale was won by the team of Vacoas-Phoenix against the Pamplemousses a goal to nil. The two players who have distinguished themselves will have the chance to go to a training camp in England.

They will meet the winners of the competition COPA Coca-Cola held in over 20 other African countries.
